The channel's article highlighted the clinic on wheels that is traveling around Brazil. There are five offices, taking itinerant medical care to cities where there is a shortage of ophthalmologists.
The #UnitingForces Project vehicle provides the neediest people with the examinations that everyone should have at least once a year. It's a relief for thousands of people in Brazilian municipalities that don't have ophthalmologists or other specialty doctors, let alone a complete structure and modern equipment like this mobile unit.
The mobile health service is run by staff and volunteers, who carry out detailed examinations. Cases requiring surgery and more sophisticated treatment are referred to SUS, while the simpler ones are solved with prescriptions, advice and even glasses made on the spot.
The so-called Health W agon offers consultations, procedures and tests to assess ametropia, cataracts, retinal and corneal pathologies, glaucoma, lacrimal pathology and eye surgery.
Carreta da Saúde is Labor.
